Sandi Novak was born in 1961 in Zagreb, Croatia and obtained the Master of Arts degree in cinematography at the Academy of Dramatic Art. Since then he works as a documentarist and has filmed a number of documentaries; some of them as the author, some as the cinematographer. He has shot in many different parts of the world including Peru, the USA, Italy, Cuba and some other countries. As a director of photography he has worked on more than 150 music videos around 50 TV commercials.
Up until a hundred years ago the Eurasian griffon vulture could be seen all across Croatia.Out of four different types of griffons they are the only survivors. Currently, they inhabit only five of the northern coast islands of Croatia and each “new flight” brings hope to the survival of the species. His simple yet perfect movements come from almost invisible use of his own energy. Like some kind of zen master he lets the current to transform air resistance into harmonious glide.
