Boaz Peters and Mark Slierings (both born in 1992) are two urbanism graduates from the Netherlands. As part of their graduation projects at the University of Technology in Delft, they turned to cinematography as research method in northern Norway. The short film Northbound premiered at the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam (AFFR) in 2019, and is their first production as filmmakers.They aim at continuing to combine spatial research and filmmaking, moving between art, science and design.
A short documentary/visual manifesto about Finnmark, Europe’s most northern state in Norway. The inhabitants of this remote region are extremely divided about the arrival of the extraction industries, that offers jobs but also corrodes the landscape while at the same time conflicting with the indigenous practice of reindeer herding.
